Everything is a load
Ideas are cheap. Building the world is the hard part. An AI can plan a city, it can’t pour the concrete, string the transmission lines, or keep the grid from browning out when a thousand data centers and a million electric trucks all pull power at once.
- Artificial intelligence that answers in an instant, running in warehouses of servers that each draw as much power as a small town.
- Autonomous vehicles and electric transport, millions of them, charging off the same grid.

The United States built its grid over roughly a century, and now we’re asking it to nearly double what it can carry, cleaner and tougher, in a single generation. That’s not a footnote to the future. That’s the plot. It’s why our first branch is energy.
