Educational information, not professional advice
Everything on this site is published for education. It is not professional financial, legal, admissions, tax or career advice, and it is not a substitute for talking to a qualified adviser, a licensed professional, or your own school.
Verify financial aid details with FAFSA and directly with the institution you are applying to. Aid rules change every year.
About the pay figures
Wages shown on the Career Clusters page are United States national medians from the Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Outlook Handbook, May 2025. They are not Utah figures, and Utah pay differs from the national median in both directions depending on the occupation.
A median means half the people in that job earn more and half earn less. Starting pay is usually well below it. Where we show a figure for an occupation inside a specific industry, that is the industry median published by BLS; where BLS publishes no figure for that pairing, we show the occupation-wide median and label it.
About licences and certifications
Licence and certification notes describe the general position in the United States. Licensure is state law and it varies. In Utah, professional engineering licences and most trade licences are administered by the Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing.
Where we say something like “most states require a licence,” treat that as a prompt to check your own state, not as a statement about Utah specifically. Confirm current requirements with the licensing board before making a decision that depends on them.
About the cluster and pathway information
Cluster names and career pathway codes follow the Utah State Board of Education CTE Career Pathways for school year 2026–2027. Industry codes follow the North American Industry Classification System, United States, 2022, from the U.S. Census Bureau. Occupation codes are SOC 2018.
Some pathway assignments on this site are our own proposal rather than an official designation, and role titles and descriptions are written by the academy. Check with your school or district before relying on a pathway code for enrolment or credit.
About our advisors
Advisors are volunteers. They describe their own experience and opinions. They do not speak for NAUA STEM Academy or for their employers, and a conversation with an advisor is not professional advice.
No guarantees
NAUA STEM Academy does not guarantee admission to any programme, any financial aid, or any employment outcome.
